Hello, Charlie Podolski.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"Not really, I never had the thing as a child where I wondered what it would be like if I was called something else. And anyway, Charlie is the name my Mother gave me and I’m much too fond of my late Father to want to change my surname."
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"Thirty-seven and eleven months"
» I see, and you're in what member group?
"New Survivors”
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"That Tom Hardy fellow. Yeah, I know."
» Thanks! Slipped my mind. Now, do you know the super secret code word?
"Toothpaste."

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"My favourite things? Well, where to begin. I love the beach and the sun, the oceans and rolling countryside. I love sausage sandwiches in the mornings, lasagne and very, very salty pork. I also love the Kinks and Bob Dylan, but I am partial to a taste of Michael Bublé and the like. I like Aston Martins and Jaguar’s, proper British craftsmanship and I love the boxing.”
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"Oh God, I could rant forever on this subject! I HATE those lockers in gyms where you put a pound in and don’t get it back. I despise them. And, what else? Oh, of course, I hate being unclean. I’m a very tidy person you see, almost OCD like, but I have a high standard of personal hygiene and everything in my house and office has it’s place. I hate buses and trains, not too fond of planes either, they make me edgy. I hate crime and criminals and I think they should all be shot and burnt. There’s a few random things thrown together for you.”
» Hm, what is your greatest fear?
"My biggest fear? My biggest fear is drowning. My Father was a crew man on a merchant ship that sank off the south coast of South Africa when I was only small, since then I guess I’ve had a fear of drowning. I can swim, I’m fine with swimming, but once I know I’m out of my depth I begin to panic and have anxiety attacks where I sweat uncontrollably. It’s rather unpleasant.”
» Yeah, that is scary. Do you have any dreams for the future?
"I have spent the last ten years married to a woman who turned out to be having an affair with her boss. Explains the pay rises I suppose, but I am on my way to find a girl that I walked away from to get into this stupid marriage. I love her, and I know she loves me, I just wonder if it’ll be far too late. I want to marry her and have the rest of my life with her."
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"About myself? Well, I’m a publisher from London but I’ve spent a lot of time in Los Angeles and New York in the past few years, so I’ve been travelling quite a bit back and forth. I have two children who are in my custody, or at least will be after my divorce, as they hate their Mother. They’re named Thomas and Katie. I have a Mother, as my Father’s past away and my business is doing quite well for itself. I’m in the position where I can leave it for at least a week and it can handle itself quite fine! I used to have a problem with authority until I found the blessing of logic, as an unfair world is better than a one without order. I don’t hold grudges, I played sports in my youth and play for a Sunday Rugby team and also a little bit of football on Friday’s so I’m in quite good shape. I had a non-extraordinary childhood, made up for in my teens when I travelled the world twice and lived in France with my mother for a couple of years. I got into publishing by trying to write my own book and realised I was better at reading than writing. I own the publishing business with my best friend Matthew who is back in England."

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"I was born in Kent, England in a lowly homestead in the countryside. It’s a beautiful part of England and I enjoyed spending many days walking the hillsides with my family when I was younger. As I grew up I found the isolation of where I lived a bit much, as the children in school lived in the same town and saw each other often. We moved into the capital after a couple of years in primary school, making it easier for me and my Father to get to work and school then I stayed there, living like every other London kid does. I was knifed once coming out of a bar when I was eighteen, which I still have a scar from across the right part of my chest, but as I’m still here today it would be safe to say it didn’t do much damage. When I was seven my Father moved into shipping and took to the seas to look for investments in South Africa, but his ship sunk when an engine blew a hole in the hull and he drowned at sea. His body was recovered but he was buried in St. Elizabeth.”
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"My aunts and uncles do the usual pleasant post card at Christmas, but other than that I don’t really see many of them. They all live further North in Manchester and Liverpool and the ones from my Father’s side of the family still live out in Germany so they’re not much use unless I’m on business there and I need to stay over. They’re nice enough, but my real relationship is with my Mother. I pay for her care as she has become quite ill over the last few years, but I love her so much. She did everything when my Dad past away and she didn’t seem to show any emotion towards it. She was sad yes, but I know she remained strong for me. For that I admire her, greatly.”
» What is your worst memory/memories?
"My worst memory would, apart from the day the Police came to the door to tell me my Father had died, would be a few months afterwards. To try and help towards getting on with our lives after my Father passed, I went on holiday with my Mother to Cornwall where we stayed with some family friends. We went surfing, and they took us out in their boat. I remember one day we went out in the boat and we all went swimming, but as a practical joke they got back in the boat and powered off without me. I panicked instantly and suddenly started to feel really sick and heavy, my breathing grew harsher and I started to feel weak with fear. My Mother started screaming from the beach, thinking I was drowning. Even though I was so far out I could still here her, she was screaming to loud. Our friends returned and dragged me onto the boat where I passed out from shock. I woke up on the beach lying on a beach towel with my Mother screaming the entire place down at her friends. Consequently she fell out with them and we never went back to that part of Cornwall."
» What is your best memory/memories?
"My best memory has to be with the girl that I’m traveling to Paris to meet. Sabine Cotillard was – is, the love of my life. Why I ever married that troll is far past me, even why I spent 10 years unhappily married is again way over my head. The only thing that kept me coming back was my children. But Sabine, we drove through Paris in a red x-type Jag. Real vintage and classy, spent the day beneath the Eiffel Tower eating ice cream and talking about French film. It was the best day of my life."
» Where are you now? What are you doing with your life?
"As mentioned I have divorced from my wife. My children are spending a week with Grandparents as the witch wont take them and the business is under Matthew’s hands. I am travelling to Paris to meet with Sabine who is hopefully as excited to see me as I am to see her. A romance story I guess you could call this, but it will be the happiest time of my life if everything works out."
