Hello, Foster Laurence Collins.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"Foster is just fine."
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"I’m forty-two, plus three years. So if I must say it aloud, I’m forty-five years old."
» I see, and you're in what member group?
"The New Survivors."
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"Bradley Whitford? Yes, I’ve been told."
» Thanks! Slipped my mind. Now, do you know the super secret code word?
"Toothpaste!"

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"As a teen, I used to read comic books. I would love to just sit in the nature around me and flip through my silly comic books. Strawberry smoothies and telling corny jokes are the way I like to start my mornings off at the office. The smell of the grass when summer begins and lavender.
Old Victorian furniture covers my apartment, it just has a certain class to it. Plus, I like to look smart explaining the history of it all. I used to adore going to cook and knit with my grandmother. She was loads better at both of those things then I ever was. I tend to quote Icelandic and French Philosophers when trying to make my point, and when I’m feeling totally on my game I throw in a Haiku here and there. "
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"Tons of things. I cannot stand people who feel the need to talk all the time, they need to learn the phrase silence is golden. Always playing peacemaker with my mother and father, that’s a tad bit of terror I would love if I could avoid. Cleaning isn’t my forte, so I just don’t do it. Baseball caps kill me, along with the ‘Goth’ look. I don’t get kids these days. Planners are useless just like Britney Spears. I don’t eat meat. People who act tough also bother me, I understand guarding your feelings but please, don’t try and pick fights with me because you will not succeed.”
» Hm, what is your greatest fear?
" I have three things that simply kill me inside when I think about them. One is to end up alone. Even though I never like to admit this, I always have this horrible nightmare that I will end up all alone. The only person who knows about this fear is my grandfather, and he was bat-crazy. His reply when I told him that the thought of being alone for the rest of my life sent shivers up my spine was as follows, “Son, you never give up that dream. You’re too pretty to be acting like this.” It upset me a little bit, but for the most part it made me question my grandfather’s sexuality. From that day on, he was given karma sutra books for Christmas and nothing more. I don’t do Bees, I’m highly allergic to these buggers, and whenever I see one I head for the hills. I do not like them at all, and I used to have this horrible habit of carrying a fly swatter around the house in the middle of summer just to keep away from them.
Death is really the kicker though. Death is something that I haven’t really dealt with yet, possibly because I don’t know what will happen to me when I do die. I teeter on the edge of ‘there is something out there, I just don’t know what yet.’ And ‘Bollix! There’s no god. Period.’ Perhaps when I get a better outlook on life I will be more at ease when people mention funerals. My profession kind of demands it.”
» Yeah, that is scary. Do you have any dreams for the future?
"Maybe settling down. Family has always been a very important thing to me, so I hope one day I can have one. I’m not really a kid person, but if my wife wants them, who am I to tell her no? Also, this is a very different dream, but I want to live to see power kiting become an Olympic sport. It’s very exciting, and dangerous, plus no one really likes ice-skating anyways. I also would like to go to the Disney theme park? Did I say that correctly? I heard the one in Florida was such fun."
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"I am a huge environmentalist. I have always been one of those people who just cannot stand by and watch the world slowly diminish into a pile of trash and smog. I love going to the park in my spare time and picking up pieces of trash that are stuck in nearby trees and bushes. The world isn’t your own personal waste receptacle. I consider myself pretty mature. I try my hardest to not blow up over silly thing. I do not really like the whole idea of fighting with someone. A heated conversation with a hand shake at the end sure, but if some hot head comes up to me at the pub and wants to ‘have a go’ for looking at his mistress, I just walk away. I feel people like that don’t deserve a response. There is only one exception to the ‘fighting’ rule that I try to live by, and that is wrestling with anyone. My mother used to call me Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I would sort of flip-flop back and forth from the 'deep thinker' and the 'party boy.' What a lot of people don't understand, and I cannot really understand them for not understanding, is that it is possible to be both at the same time. It just requires a bit of multi-tasking. Discussing poetry while drinking your brain cells into extinction really isn't as difficult as most people would make it out to be. My mother attributes this bizarre phenomenon to my DNA. She insists that I must have some sort of gift from god. She likes to fret over me. I am extremely artistic. Don’t get me wrong; essentially everyone in this world is creative. Everyone can do something someone else cannot; everyone has a little talent or two. I cannot be described with creative, because that is too general for what kind of work I feel I can create when I fully put my mind to it. I prefer free, unstructured situations with maximum opportunities for self-expression; I’d always had this great need for individual expression, so I think that’s why I kept it a hobby and started working for the government. Structure is good in some ways. I’m quick witted and very cocky, but once you get to know me, I’m sure you’ll find those qualities rather charming.”

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"I’m from a small town in England called Canterbury. It was charming, and my parents were professors at a middle school when I was born, and then they were hired by the University of Kent when I was three, so we have a pretty nice life in my little town. I moved away from England when I was accepted into Yale.”
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"My parents, Albert and Bree Collins, are alive and well in Canterbury, living out the rest of their days working at the University and gossiping with the rest of the staff. Even though my mother kept the house and my father has an apartment, they still work together which the university found unique in a sense. I have a younger sister, Stella and she twenty-five and works for Green Peace in India. I’m rather proud of her.”
» What is your worst memory/memories?
"When my father and mother split. It was hard, but I think it is always hard for people. I was away at Yale, and when I came back for a Christmas break I noticed there was one less person in the house. It was just something I had to comes to terms with/"
» What is your best memory/memories?
"When I was old enough to venture out on my own, my parents took me on this small trip to Greece. It was wonderful, the city just enchanted me. We stayed in small apartment for the summer, and the nightlife was amazing, the culture was just the same. It’s small things that matter to me."
» Where are you now? What are you doing with your life?
"I work for the government now. I live in Washington D.C. I cannot say much about my work, but I can say it’s weird navigating your way around the Pentagon and the White House.Well, now I guess when I talk about my life it should all be in the past tense. I'm stuck on an island with scared people running around like chickens with there...well, you know how the saying goes. I'm trying to keep my sanity, but honestly I don't know what's going to happen in the next few weeks."
