Hello, Ava Marri Thomas.
» Is there anything you would rather be called?
"Ava is perfectly fine, thank you."
» Great, now that we've got that covered. How old are you?
"I’m 17 years old."
» I see, and you're in what member group?
"New Survivors"
» You know, has anyone ever told you that you look exactly like...?
"Annasophia Robb is perhaps who you’re thinking of?"
» Thanks! Slipped my mind. Now, do you know the super secret code word?
"I believe it’s toothpaste."

Let's talk about your personality.
» What are a few of your favorite things?
"I like to make people feel better about themselves. I like to volunteer my time as well, though with the court dates I haven’t been given much time for that."
»That's interesting. Is there anything you absolutely dislike?
"I dislike men who think that they can get what they want just because they have a position of power. Excuse me, I didn’t mean to get angry."
» Hm, what is your greatest fear?
"That I’ll not be able to take care of anybody. That someone will depend on me some day and I won’t be able to handle it. That I’m going to be a terrible mother."
» Yeah, that is scary. Do you have any dreams for the future?
"I just want to be the mother that I never had."
» Wow, I hope you succeed. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
"The director of the shelter I’ve stayed in most of my life had always placed a special interest on me. He’s been taking advantage of girls for years now. He made the mistake of getting me pregnant because I was the one that spoke up. He’s in jail now. Thank goodness."

So far so good. Now for history.
» So tell me, where are you from? What did you think of it?
"I’d be happy too. I’ve lived all of my life as a ward of the state. My mother was deemed unfit to be a mother when my dad took my to court right after I was born but he couldn’t keep me either. Most of my life was spent bouncing from foster home to foster home before I was set up in a girls shelter at age 10. People don’t want older kids. I don’t blame them."
» Do you have any other family? Parents? Siblings? Extended? What do you think about them?
"If I do I don’t know about them. I know who my mother is, her name is Marri-Ann and I have a picture of her. But, she’s not allowed to see me until she goes through rehab and she hasn’t gone yet. It’s okay though, I’ve lived with some really amazing people and learned lots of things that I wouldn’t have otherwise. "
» What is your worst memory/memories?
"My worst memories are from when the director took a special interest in me. He had cameras in my bathroom. I didn’t know about them until after. I can’t walk into a bathroom without checking all the little nooks and crannies that he used."
» What is your best memory/memories?
"My best memories are of a family I stayed with when I was really little. She was a writer and spent all day at home with me. They had a dog and a cat and I spent my days playing with them. I developed allergies and she got pregnant so they had to give me back. I lived there for about three years, until I turned five. I don’t blame them for giving me back. I’d rather they keep their child then not."
» Where are you now? What are you doing with your life?
"I was going across the seas to try and find my father. Although I don’t expect much out of him I’d like to meet him. I was given some money from the state in apology for the director and I have a full ride to any college in state so I’m planning on going to night school so that I can work in a day care durning the day and take care of my child."
